DESCRIPTION
• Manage a Credit & Collection department consisting of a team of 10 with responsibility and accountability for a high volume portfolio.
• Develop policies that will enable the company to maximize sales while minimizing risk.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the full cycle of credit including the review of credit applications, credit limits including risk analysis, new account set ups and account closures.
• Develop strategies and goals to reduce the company’s exposure to bad debts.  Secure accounts through PPSA registrations.
• Work with the Sales & Key Account teams on new & existing business initiatives.
• Oversee Key Accounts and occasionally meet with them as necessary to ensure compliance with our terms and quick repayment of unauthorized deductions.
• Address unauthorized deductions by working with Sales, Customers and other departments as required.
• Prepare monthly reports for Senior Management.
• Develop & maintain positive business relationships with our business partners through regular communications and personal visits.
• Initiate process improvements and coordinate with IT.
• Provide staff with guidance, leadership and motivation.
• Create a strong team environment and ensure that all subordinates clearly understand their role.
• Develop and train staff to assume greater responsibilities in the operation of the department
• Participate in new project initiatives as required.
• Participate in Industry Credit Groups.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• FCI Designation.
• Minimum 5 years managing a Credit & Collection department.
• Bilingual – French & English
• ERP systems experience required (AS400)
• Manufacturing or Distribution experience an asset
