DESCRIPTION
As a member of the North American Risk team of the company, you will be responsible for the underwriting of a large portfolio of debtors for the Healthcare client of the company, while working with your colleagues to identify areas for process improvement and sustaining a superior level of integrity.
FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- To underwrite trade credit on an existing portfolio of debtors including: industry research, and company specific research.
- Request for Credit Limit document preparation, recommend accounts for approval and approve credits.
- Review existing portfolios: recommend Risk adder to pricing, analyze portfolio to set discretionary credit limit and underwrite individual credits.
- Reviews approved credit for ongoing developments and modify limits as necessary.
- Communicate credit decisions to clients and speak to client to build credit files.
- Research and gather financial and credit information on debtor companies.
- Compile and analyze debtor financial information and prepare a write-up to the risk manager with recommendations.
- Monitor exposure on the customers underwritten. Review changes in credit limit requirements and expiring limits and prepare credit reviews.
- Communicate recent events and trends impacting the industries underwritten.
- Approve credit limits or recommend for approval limits over delegation of authority.
- Any other assignment provided by the Risk Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting
- 5-10 years experience in a credit management or underwriting role, preferably in the healthcare businesses or in the credit insurance industry
- Country / Sector Analysis high level understanding of economic and political factors influencing corporate risk.
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and credit analysis
- Strong credit research and data gathering skills
- Proven analytical, problem solving and process oriented skills
- Superior Excel and Power Point skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a time sensitive environment
Desired characteristics
- Detailed knowledge of or work experience in the Healthcare sector preferred.
- Experience in industrial businesses
- Factoring industry or credit insurance experience
- CCP designation or enrolled in CCP program
- Cultural Awareness in a diverse and international environment
- Team player but able to work independently, manage priorities, and adhere to deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
